They’re Baaack!!

Ever since Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica in October 2025, three Sandals resorts in Jamaica have been closed: Sandals South Coast, Sandals Montego Bay, and Sandals Royal Caribbean (now called Sandals Caribbean Cay). That means that no rooms at these resorts have been on the weekly 777 sale since then, either.
Well, now they’re BACK. At least two of them. This week, Montego Bay (SMB) and Caribbean Cay (SRC) each have a room on the 777 sale. Although South Coast (SWH) wasn’t part of the sale this week, I’d be surprised if it doesn’t show up within the next week or two.
SWH is due to reopen on 18 November while SMB and SRC are supposed to reopen on 18 December of 2026. From what we’re hearing, Sandals is still planning on meeting those dates. We even got to see the SMB Employee Newsletter for July (issue 1). It makes it sound like they’re really trying to fire up the staff for this reopening. Of course, it also looks like they’re trying to hire a fair number of people. And in addition to all the changes for the guests, they’ve also made changes to make things better for the staff.
I know not everyone is thrilled with the changes, but personally, I’m looking forward to seeing them! And it’ll be good to see all of the staff that have become friends over the years.
