So, you’re going on vacation to the Caribbean and you want / expect to have lobster while you’re there.  Not unusual.  A lot of people like the Caribbean lobster and want some while there.  Especially if they’re going to an all-inclusive resort and expect to get a LOT of it for “FREE”.

Well, you can’t always get lobster on every Caribbean island year round.  Most of the islands have certain times of the year when the catching of lobster is banned, and while some resorts will get extra lobster and freeze it so they can serve it during the restricted season, you want FRESH lobster.

So here’s the lowdown on lobster restrictions for the 9 islands that Sandals and Beaches have resorts:

• Antigua – No lobster in May or June
• Bahamas – No lobster from April thru July
• Barbados – No lobster from May thru August
• Curacao – No closure, lobster available all year
• Grenada – No lobster from May thru August
• Jamaica – No lobster from April thru June
• Saint Lucia – No lobster from March thru July
• Saint Vincent – No lobster from May thru August
• Turks & Caicos – No lobster from April thru July

If you want fresh Caribbean lobster on your next vacation, pick the right island and the right time of year, otherwise you might get frozen lobster, or none at all!
